Tom Rush

Tony
Davis introduces Tom Rush. If you don't remember Rush, it's because he
wasn't there very long. Possibly a month! And now the rush is on to
find another evening personality. In the meantime, the return
of "Your Nightime Companion" Rick
Charles. _______________________________________________________________________________

Rick and
Ron
April 1981
Rick Gary and Ron Bee. Without question Syracuse's most popular morning
team EVER! If you were to ask anyone in their thirties or forties if they
remember W-O-L-F, they would say "oh sure Rick and Ron" Rick Gary did 4
tours of duty at WOLF, first in 1968 in the news department, then
replacing Howie Castle mid-days in December of 1969. He remained until
March of 1971 being replaced by Don Ryan. Then Rick returned again shortly
in 1972 only to move on to WMPS in Memphis and eventually WMEX in Boston.
Upon his return in 1975 it was Rick Gary mornings, with Ron Bee's news.
The two were so successful together it eventually became Rick and Ron
until the stations unfortunate sale and format change in late 1981.
Rick did mornings, replacing Ed Murphy on WSYR for a number of years
before moving to Channel 9. Ron joined Rick for a short time on Radio 57,
but it just wasn't the same with WSYR's conservative listeners. Rick
Gary had been seen doing his very successful morning show "Daybreak" with
Christie Casciano (another former WOLF alumni) on Newschannel 9 in
Syracuse for a nearly 9 years. He was also co-host of Bridge Street with
Rick & Julie for some time.
Ron Bee was
the very successful morning man on B104.7 after doing his stint at WSEN
and WEZG for a number of years. Remember the march
around the breakfast table, or the morning stretchies? How about "get your
crack outa the sack"? You
will!
