Bob would stay through 1982 doing mornings on Big WOLF Country, then move
on to Rochester. Morning Drive on
WHFM99.

Sick Nick
July 1981
Nick started on WOLF replacing Uncle Ben Brode doing overnights and
eventually moving to Syracuse Nightime radio 7 to Midnight, a gig that
would last 3 years plus. As you'll hear he landed at 95X after WOLF
then WRUN in Utica, eventually returning to 93Q in Syracuse. Then it was
on to Buffalo and WNYS-FM for his first morning gig for another 3 years.
Nick did several tours in Florida then headed west, eventually ending
back in the north-east in Binghamton. Nick also worked
mornings at WODZ/Oldies 96 in Utica/Rome. With thanks, this
aircheck recorded Friday July 10th is from the Joe Dolan
collection. _______________________________________________________________________________
Tom
Stuart
July
1981
As many news people did in
the past on WOLF, Stu Saginor filling in, in the last days of Superstar 15
as Tom Stuart. This, a
Saturday morning, also features bits of Christie Caschiano and the last
WOLF news magazine recorded July 11, 1981. Thanks to Stu for the
memory. _______________________________________________________________________________

Ben Brode
July 1981
Ben was the overnight jock preceding Sick Nick then moved to
weekends/fill in, in addition to his duties in the promotions department
at WOLF. After the format change, Ben did overnights for a number of years
on 62WHEN. This aircheck, Ben's last show on WOLF was recorded July 11,
1981 and is from the Joe Dolan Collection.

The Last 20 Minutes
of WOLF
July 12,
1981
Lee Goodman was the last jock on the air and Lee and
I (Bob Mitchell) had the pleasure of being the last Top 40 voices on the
station. Here is the last 20 minutes of WOLF including a montage which Bob
Reynolds and I produced to run the entire last month of the station before
the change, some of which you've all heard. WOLF ends appropriately with
"The End" by The Beatles, which leads into the final 3 hours of The Black
Experience with Jim Martin. Thanks to Kathy Rowe for this
rememberance. _______________________________________________________________________________
WOLF Jock Montage Part
1
The 50's
and 60's
This is a collection of very short
airchecks of jocks that there I only had a break or two of. So rather than
have one 30 second one, they are assembled together in a
montage. Some of these are on air promos which may be all that
exists. We start with a Dick Clark promo, Thom T.W. Saunders, Bob Dell
Dance Party promo, Dandy Dan Leonard, George Brewer promo, Johnny Vann
promo, Big George Plavacos and Dick Richards.

You'll hear Big John Allen, Bob O'Brien, Jim Sims, Don Bombard, Les
Howard, Mike Fisher, Paul Kelly, Lee Goodman, Jay Walker and (The Real)Bob

WOLF Jock Montage Part 3
The 70's and 80's
This
is a collection of very short airchecks of jocks that there I only had a
couple of breaks of Part 3. So rather than have a 30 second cut, they are
put together in a montage. My thanks to Joe Dolan for this collection. On
this one you'll hear Don Bombard, The Real Bob Sherman, Chris Kaye, Don
Ryan, Jim Sims, Howie Castle, Jeff Laurence, Brother Vic (with his classic
O'Jays intro), John Gabriel, Rick & Ron and Captain D'Crashio, Charlie
Brown, Tony "Oscar" Davis, Rick Charles, and it ends with the Rhythm of
the City song fading
out.

Tribute to Jim
Sims
After 19 years at WOLF, Jim Sims (who had become production
director) left to move to Youngstown, Ohio and his own production company.
He later returned and moved "Jim Sims Productions" back to Syracuse, and
did morning drive for a few years on WSEN. This tribute was produced by
Rick Gary upon his leaving in 1979, and was a spoof of his now infamous
promos using the Great Rip Off/Last Contest style. Jim Sims
passed away in 1998. His production genius will truly be
missed.
